This month our nurse has been teaching our students about the importance of hand washing. Nurse Kim from the Puntnam County Health Department brought in fake germs to put on their hands, the students would wash their hands, then check them with a black light to be sure they are getting all the germs washed away.




Many of our classes joined in the Purdue Extensions program Apple Crunch today. Our students learned all about apples, and at the end of the lesson they got to crunch an apple.

Sheriff Elect Mr. Jerrod Baugh was a substitute teacher for our students. He was in three of our classrooms and had a ball. Our students loved him!

You can smell popcorn through our hallways! It's Popcorn Day! Thank you to the PTO for coming in early to make popcorn for our students.

PTO's Fall Festival is this Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 5:00-8:00. Food, Games, Prizes, Raffles , Basket Auction, and much more! There is something for everyone at this fun event!


Thank you to the Wiegand Family for donating pumpkins to our 4th grade class! Painting pumpkins was a Fun Friday activity.



Mrs. Even's class celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day by doing STEM activities with apples.





Great news! South Putnam has partnered with the YMCA to provide an after-school child care program for our K-5 elementary students. Details to follow soon. But first, the YMCA needs to staff the program. If you know of anyone who may be interested in working with our elementary students in a structured after-school program, please see the flyer attached or email Michaela Sinclair at msinclair@ymcaswv.org
