Dear Central Elementary Families,
Welcome Back!
Our students are back in the classrooms and we couldn’t be more excited. For those of you new to our community, we want to welcome you as well. As Central Elementary Eagles, we are blessed to have great community support and we hope that our new families will join in.
I will be posting a Principal’s Message at least once a month. The message will be on our new and improved webpage. Speaking of the webpage, please take a few minutes to learn more about it. Throughout the school year, this will be your one-stop shop for information. Calendars, teacher contact information, school breakfast/lunch information, and of course, any notifications that come out.
New Staff:
Each year brings positive change. This includes a few additions to our staff. We are delighted to welcome Mrs. Meagen Crafton, Mrs. Carrie Lovett, and Mrs. Laura Minor. All three of these wonderful teachers actually have children in our South Putnam community. They are pumped to be joining the most caring group of educators around. Welcome Aboard!
Facilities Update:
In partnership with our School Corporation, our very own PTO stepped up and purchased us brand new playground mulch and a new slide. This was a very expensive project and words can not describe how much we appreciate it. Please let me know if you would like to be a part of our PTO. “We NEED You”
School Safety: Nothing is more important than the safety of our students and our school community. I am also in charge of safety planning for our district. Over the summer, Dr. Smith, our Superintendent, and I worked diligently to secure funds and resources to further enhance our safety at each of our school buildings. Once we are awarded the grant money that we have proposed, we will share out more information about them. In the meantime, please know that all our buildings are locked down during the school day and our employees are consistently being trained on best safety practices.
