Dear Parents/Guardians,
It is hard to believe that spring break has already passed! It won’t be long before Memorial Day is here and the summer months are upon us!
The ILEARN state wide assessment window for students in grades 3-5 opens on April 18. The ILEARN assessment provides valuable data that districts utilize to evaluate programs and provide targeted instruction to students in the classroom. Central Elementary will be hosting the IASP Math Bowl competition on Tuesday, April 12. We want to wish our Math Bowl student team members and their coaches best of luck as they will be competing against 10 other schools.
The Indiana Pacers’ “Boomer” will be here Wednesday, April 13 at 1:45 to fire up our students as a way to motivate them to show what they know on our upcoming assessments. Parents are welcome to stop in and see our students get excited.
Grandparents Day! Yes, we are going to have Grandparents Day on Friday, May 20. The times will be from 8:30 am to 9:15 am. Pictures, donuts and drinks will be available followed by a visit to the grand child’s classroom. More specific information to come.
Lastly, I want to express my gratitude for our teachers and staff here at Central. What a wonderful job they are doing keeping students engaged, learning and excited about school each day during this crazy year. We are so lucky to have such a hardworking group of individuals. I hope each of you can show your gratitude in some way or another. Happy Spring everyone!
