FEET Club Spring Clean Up
FEET Club Spring Clean Up
FEET club is ending the year with a massive spring clean-up. We had some wonderful guest speakers this year and now that the weather is nicer we are turning our attention to the school grounds. In April we cleaned up many of the downed limbs from all those windstorms and trimmed some of the trees in front of the building. Some of the limbs that had fallen from the pine trees just west of the building were very large. In May we will do our final trash pick-up on school grounds. We usually collect 2-4 bags of trash that accumulates over the winter. Hopefully we leave our school grounds in good shape for the summer!

National Dictionary Day
National Dictionary Day!
National Dictionary Day! Central Elementary third graders would like to thank the Cloverdale Lion’s Club for giving them their very own dictionary during the week of National Dictionary Day. The students use the dictionaries throughout the year in the classroom and will get to take them home in May. They love having a dictionary of their own and are excited about the extras in the back of the book like the longest word that is 1,909 letters long (the term for the formula C1289H2051N343O375S8, a protein that consists of 267 amino acids), the multiplication chart, and much more!

Oh Say Can You Sing
Oh Say Can You Sing
On behalf of the American Public Education Foundation team, Central Elementary students and staff were invited to participate in the 5th annual National Anthem Sing-A-Long on September 11, 2018. We joined our voices together in patriotism and pride as we sang the National Anthem along with other schools across our great country. Central Elementary celebrated our country's resilience and freedom as we commemorated the spirit of America in remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001, as well as celebrated the anniversary of Francis Scott Key's penning of our nation's anthem (September 14, 1814).
