South Putnam Community School corporation is located in south-central Putnam County.  The corporation covers an area of 163 square miles and is crossed by Interstate 70 and U.S. Highway 40 to the east and west, and U.S. Highway 231 to the north and south. South Putnam has approximately 1,150 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade among three buildings including South Putnam Middle School/ High School, Central Elementary and Fillmore Elementary.  South Putnam is committed to equipping students for professional and personal success by guiding students to excellence according the Indiana State Standards and the five C's: communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking and character.

Spell Bowl Team Takes First Place
On Monday, November 18, CES hosted the Area Spell Bowl Meet. Central's Spell Bowl Team, of fourth and fifth graders, took first place in the Red Division and was ranked thirteenth in the Red Division in the state. Since August they have been working hard studying the 750 word list. Congratulations on a great year!
