South Putnam Community School corporation is located in south-central Putnam County.  The corporation covers an area of 163 square miles and is crossed by Interstate 70 and U.S. Highway 40 to the east and west, and U.S. Highway 231 to the north and south. South Putnam has approximately 1,150 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade among three buildings including South Putnam Middle School/ High School, Central Elementary and Fillmore Elementary.  South Putnam is committed to equipping students for professional and personal success by guiding students to excellence according the Indiana State Standards and the five C's: communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking and character.

Central Elementary 2018 Spell Bowl
Central Elementary's Spell Bowl Team will compete at the Area Spell Bowl competition on November, 15 at CES. The spell bowl meet will begin at 5 pm. They have been working very hard to learn 750 words this year. Good luck Eagles!

Life is Your Journey. Travel Drug Free. This week Miss Simms has been talking with the students about the harmful effects of drugs. The National Family Partnership helps lead and support our nation’s families and communities in nurturing the full potential of healthy, drug free youth. Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don't, yet only a quarter of teens report having these conversations. Central Elementary will “Just Say No to Drugs”!
