Castle Visits Third Grade

Castle Visits Third Grade
The DePauw students taught the third graders about plant growth and helped them plant micro greens (sunflowers, peas, and radishes).   In about two weeks they should be ready to harvest.  Mrs. Lisa Cooper, our Castle contact, will be back to help us harvest and taste what we have grown.   Mrs. Cooper also read the book "Miss Rumphius" to the students.   It is the story of one woman who made the world a more beautiful place by planting flowers.   She then helps students create postcards with fingerprint flowers on the front.   We will pass along the idea of kindness by writing positive messages on the postcards and giving them to local retirement homes.
